The St. Lucia case illustrates the impact of topography on island life in the high islands. Photos taken in 1965 by R. Stoffle illustrate various aspect of that life in the rural village of Canaries where he and his wife were Peace Corps Volunteers. St. Lucia also illustrates the local health and economic development triage trade offs being considered at the time by international aid organizations.
